What's involved?
- Gathering members' views on key policy areas, with full support from HQ
- Representing those views at 4 meetings per year
- Reading papers, contributing to debate, and providing constructive challenge
Members in the region will be invited to vote for their preferred candidate in January 2026, with the successful representatives joining Council from April 2026 for a three-year term.

Role of Ȥҹapp Council
The role of Ȥҹapp Council is:
- to represent members’ views on matters of veterinary policy
- to advise the Board on matters of veterinary policyÌý
- to appoint 4 members as Directors of the Board
- to approve new members of the Association and to recommend honorary members, honorary associates, and life members for election at the AGM
- to recommend the Council’s preferred candidates for Ȥҹapp President and Junior Vice President at the AGM
Composition of Council
Ȥҹapp Council is chaired by the Ȥҹapp President and has 43 voting members and 6 non-voting members:
